OSV Pledges $1M to USCCB Eucharistic Revival
Huntington, IN, November 17, 2021 – OSV (Our Sunday Visitor) announces a commitment to a four-year, $1 million dollar grant to support the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ new Eucharistic Revival initiative. The Eucharistic Revival will begin in early 2022 with a nationwide launch to renew the Church in America by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
The initiative’s five pillars include 1) fostering encounters with Jesus through kerygmatic proclamation and experiences of Eucharistic devotion; 2) contemplating and proclaiming the doctrine of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist through the Truth of our teaching, the beauty of our worship, and the goodness of our accompaniment of persons in poverty and those who are vulnerable; 3) empowering grassroots creativity by partnering with movements, apostolates, parishes, and educational institutions; 4) reaching the smallest unit – parish small groups and families; 5) and embracing and learning from the various rich intercultural Eucharistic traditions.

Our founder, Archbishop John Francis Noll, once wrote that, ‘Christ gave us the Sacrament of the Eucharist for several reasons: that He might remain ever with us as a proof of His Love for us and to be worshiped by us; to be received in Holy Communion; and to be offered as a sacrifice commemorating and renewing the sacrifice of the cross for all time.’”
This four-year initiative will have multiple phases, including Year One – Diocesan Renewal; Year Two – Parish Renewal; Year Three – National Eucharistic Congress; and Year Four – Ongoing Revival.
