MATT SMITH – Director of Strategic Alliances, OSV Institute
As Director of Strategic Alliances, Matt manages existing relationships while generating new opportunities on a national basis with Catholic institutions, service providers, start-up businesses, and Catholic ministries.
JOSHUA D. HOLDENRIED – VP & Executive Director, Napa Legal Institute
Josh serves as Vice President and Executive Director. Before joining Napa Legal, he was Associate Director of Coalition Relations at The Heritage Foundation, where he focused on strategic partnerships and policy promotion. He holds a B.A. in Public Policy Leadership from the University of Mississippi and a Certificate in Applied Religion in Public Policy from Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy. He is currently pursuing an M.A. from Hillsdale College’s School of Government in Washington, D.C. Josh serves on the boards of Speech First and The Fund for American Studies Summer Law Fellowship. His commentary has been published by First Things, National Catholic Register, Claremont Review of Books, The Daily Signal, and Town Hall.
JOHN C. PEIFFER II – President & General Counsel, Napa Legal Institute
John serves as President and General Counsel of NLI. He is also CEO of the Busch Firm. John advises for-profit and nonprofit clients on business transactions, entity structures, and corporate formation and governance. He has advised Catholic dioceses, religious orders, private religious schools, and other religious organizations on mission-focused corporate structuring and governance, tax compliance issues, and charitable planning structures. John obtained a B.A. in Classical Studies and English from Santa Clara University, an A.M. in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago Divinity School, and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
MAGGIE BEECHER – Research Fellow & Staff Attorney, Napa Legal Institute
Maggie serves as Napa Legal’s Research Fellow and Staff Attorney. Prior to her current role, Maggie was an associate attorney with the Chicago-based law firm Wagenmaker & Oberly, LLC. While there, she provided legal services for the law firm’s wide range of nonprofit organizations and other clients. She helped clients with legal guidance on matters including corporate formation, governance, tax and regulatory compliance, and other business and legal issues. Maggie also has experience with regulatory compliance matters, implementation of U.S. sanctions programs, and cyber-security risk management. She is particularly interested in the intersection of business and law, and helping nonprofit organizations navigate the complexities involved in that area. Maggie received CALI awards for her work in Constitutional Law and Administrative Law while studying at Chicago Kent Law School and holds an undergraduate degree with honors in Finance and Business from Texas A&M University.
